Open Position: Technician (2)

Technician

We are looking for detail oriented, quality minded Technicians to join our 1st shift team of professionals.

Position Description:

The Technician is responsible for assembly, inspection, cleaning and preparation of finished products for shipment as required.  Monitoring products on a continuous basis to ensure products are of prescribed quality and meet both Customer and Company expectations, requirements, and standards.

Use of a variety of hand tools, power tools, presses, fixtures, computers, computer software and test equipment to perform a series of operations to correctly manufacture and assemble custom products.

Essential Functions:

  • Work and maintain company standards for a multi-level clean environment
  • Follow established work procedures, and perform work requirements to meet safety, quality and production goals
  • Basic understanding of blueprints, work orders, or instructions to determine product specifications, requirements, and operational sequences
  • Assemble mechanical sub-assemblies into finished goods and test for proper function of the assembly
  • Set up, operate, or tend to tools that remove material on a work piece
  • Observe operations to detect any problems, and assist in making necessary adjustments to correct problems
  • Measure work-pieces and progress of work, using precision measuring devices
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly working environment
  • Work well with team members
  • Report issues with quality, process, equipment and materials to production supervisor
  • Perform maintenance tasks as assigned
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Essential Skills:

  • Experience in a hands-on manufacturing, assembly environment
  • Quality workmanship is a must
  • PC knowledge including word and excel preferred
  • Experience with mechanical/ electro mechanical assemblies an asset
  • Experience with measuring tools, gauges, hand tools etc. preferred
  • Knowledge of component, assembly, schematic, engineering drawings
  • Knowledge of various manufacturing processes, including CNC machining etc. an asset
  • Diligent, accurate and rapid completion of assigned tasks
  • Ability to lift 50lbs
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time and perform repetitive tasks
  • Knowledge of OSHA, ergonomics, ISO, etc.

Willing to train the right candidate.

Wages:

Starting wage of $15.00-18.00/hr, depending on experience.

Successful candidates will receive a $500 sign-on bonus to be paid as follows:

  • $250 after 6 months of successful employment

Open Position: Production Planner

Production Planner

We are looking for a detail oriented, Production Planner to join our 1st shift team of professionals.

Position Description:

The Production Planner reviews sales order requirements, determines materials required to complete sales orders and schedules the work required to complete sales orders so that required production deliverables are completed on-time.
In addition, the production planner manages the inventory of raw materials and sourced product so that all production requirements are met.

Essential Functions:

  • Maintains and regulates the production schedule for the facility; reviewing daily to adjust for changes in requirements, delays in receiving raw materials, availability of production equipment, etc. to satisfy production requirements and reduce delivery delinquencies. Advise all appropriate parties in the Manufacturing and Sales Departments of changes in the schedule.
  • Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries meeting production requirements while minimizing carrying costs and premium transportation charges.
  • Maintains proper contact with Sales relating to schedules, releases and deliveries.
  • Acts as primary contact with Sales, Manufacturing and Engineering departments determining resources constraints, and developing plans to meet production demands.
  • Investigates and solves problems resulting from material shortages, machine constraints, etc.; working with appropriate departments.
  • Reviews inventory of raw materials against present and anticipated sales orders.
  • Maintains production part bill of materials information.
  • Prepares shipping paperwork including export documents
  • Maintain a safe, clean and orderly working environment
  • Works well with team members
  • Other tasks as assigned by management

Essential Skills:

  • High school diploma required. 2- year degree in Business Administration, Manufacturing management, etc. is preferred
  • Proven experience in production scheduling, planning and inventory management, experience with MRP Knowledge/Skills/Competencies
  • Problem Solving – identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner, gathers and analyzes information skillfully, develops alternative solutions.
  • Project Management – coordinates projects, communicates changes and progress. Develops workable implementation plans, communicates changes effectively, builds commitment and overcomes resistance.
  • Customer Service – manages difficult customer situations, responds promptly to customer needs, solicits customer feedback to improve service.
  • Demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles.
  • Fundamental understanding of blueprints, work orders, or instructions to determine product specifications, requirements, and operational sequences
  • Quality Management – looks for ways to improve and promote quality, demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness.
  • Develops and implements cost saving measures.
  • Planning/Organizing – prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, sets goals and objectives, develops realistic action plans.
  • Exhibits sound and accurate judgement, includes appropriate people in decision-making process, makes timely decisions.
  • Professionalism – reacts well under pressure, treats others with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position, follow through on commitments.
